Kenny was covering for Qavvik while Qavvik was fishing and called Navarro to let her know that Julia had started praying and saying someone was coming and then ran out.[1]
Later, Qavvik brought Kenny to Navarro, and Kenny told Navarro that his grandfather used to warn them to leave when they saw the spiral symbol. People would leave them as a signal to hunters where the ice would swallow them whole. As kids, Kenny and his friends would crack the ice on purpose to look for ice caves. When his grandma found out, she was angry and said the night country would come to take them.[2]
