When the women of the town, Ivy among them, learned that the Tsalal scientists had killed Annie, they gathered together and went out to the station, where they gathered the men, drove them out into the wilderness, forced them to strip, and then sent them out into the snow for Annie to take them or not. When Danvers and Navarro pieced together part of what had happened, Bee told them what had happened, but only in the form of a story, without admitting fault. Danvers and Navarro accepted that and said that forensics showed that a slab avalanche had killed the scientists, meaning the case was officially closed.[1]
When Lund woke up after his coma, Ivy led Danvers and Navarro to see him, but warned them he might be difficult to look at as both his legs and one of his arms had been amputated.[2]
