Richard Kitting is a recurring character in Season 3 of True Detective played by Bojesse Christopher. Detective Kitting is a police officer assigned to the Sallisaw Police Department. Researching her book on the disappearance of Will and Julie Purcell, Amelia Reardon questioned him in 1990 over claims that Julie was still alive and had robbed a local Wal-Mart.
