Edwin "Eddie" Tuttle is a character mentioned in the first season of True Detective.
History[]
His cousin, the Reverend Billy Lee Tuttle, refers to his cousin Edwin as "Eddie", and Marty has to explain to Rustin Cohle that Reverend Tuttle is related to Edwin Tuttle, the Governor of Louisiana. Eventually, at some point in his political career, Tuttle becomes a U.S. Senator. His involvement in the Tuttle cult is unknown, but he undeniably had a role in covering up the Carcosa murders, thereby protecting his family and shielding his own reputation. Depending on Edwin Tuttle's involvement in the cult, he may have been involved in the death of Billy Lee Tuttle if the latter truly was murdered by his fellow cultists. After Errol Childress is killed and his crimes are exposed to the public, Tuttle denies any connection between Childress and his own family.
